Casa dell’ Aristea, is a newly renovated 15th century manor and small family run establishment located in the village of Atsipopoulo at an altitude of 160m, a mere 6 km from the old Venetian town of Rethymno.

“Aristea” was the name of the original owner of the manor who often spoke to her grandchildren enchanting them with the tale of the beautiful fairy who lived in the house and watched over them and who was often seen fluttering around in her white woven silk dress and her long flowing hair capped with a small wreath of flowers.
Great care and respect was taken to restore the manor to its’ authentic architectural grandeur and each of the seven wooden beamed apartments, unique in style, have been meticulously furnished for comfort and decorated with authentic delicate touches of yesteryear.
We are confident that all our guests will experience a true Venetian atmosphere combined with contemporary comfort.

Special features:
The huge courtyard has a swimming pool with views towards the sea and Fortezza castle and is furnished with chairs, umbrellas & sun loungers.
Blue pool towels are also available.
Internet access available in all rooms.

Casa Dell’ Aristea during the summer months can also cater for small functions and events. In the small courtyard is the tiny church of St. George where Marriage ceremonies can be performed whilst the large courtyard is ideal to hold the wedding reception or any other small event.

“ELPIDA”

Overlooks the main entrance courtyard area and is furnished with a striking authentic wrought iron double bed. There is a small sitting corner. The unique designed marble and tiled bathroom has a bath with shower. Genuine antique furniture and fittings compliment this apartment.

“SOFIA”

Overlooks the courtyard and pool area. This very attractive accommodation has many elements from the Venetian period. The beautiful authentic wrought iron double bed. There is a small sitting corner, a pleasant well designed marble and tiled bathroom with shower unit. Genuine antique furniture and fittings flatter this apartment.

“EVAGELIA”

Overlooks the main entrance courtyard area. This two floor maisonette has an unusual combination. Downstairs is a complete kitchen area with stone fireplace with an wrought iron and wooden stair case that leads up to the bedroom with its elegant antique wrought iron double bed and en suite marble and tiled bathroom with shower unit.

“AGLAIA”

A delightful 2-floor maisonette with a view of the courtyard and pool area. Attractive and well designed with illustrations of some very fine elements from the Venetian period. Ground floor is the sitting room area with a sofa bed and where a 3rd person can sleep comfortably, marble and tile bathroom with shower closet. A wrought iron and wooden staircase leads you to the upper floor bedroom area with a beautiful genuine antique wrought iron double bed.

“AGAPI”

A very unusual 3-floored apartment overlooking the courtyard and swimming pool area interconnected by a wrought iron and wooden staircase. The lower floor consists of a sitting room with sofa bed for a 3rd person to sleep, table and chairs; kitchen unit complete with refrigerator and utensils and finally the top floor is the bedroom area with its authentic wrought iron double bed. Antique furniture and fittings compliment this very attractive apartment

“ASIMENIA”

Is a delightful 2-floor maisonette overlooking the courtyard and pool area. This very tastefully designed unit has many Venetian features with the ground floor area comprising of a sitting area and kitchen area, a marble and tile bathroom with shower closet. A wrought iron and wooden staircase leads you to the upper floor bedroom area with a beautiful authentic wrought iron double bed. Part of the floor is of glass and looks onto the downstairs area. Antique furniture and fittings flatter this unusual apartment.

“VENETIA” SUITE

Perfect, striking, romantic, enchanting are just a few of the words that come close to describing this truly grand suite. Decorated with luscious silk fabrics and spectacularly furnished, this surely must be the ideal bridal suite to complete the perfect fairytale wedding. A large stone staircase leads you up to this spacious beautiful suite with its’ tall arched windows and very high wooden beamed ceiling. This spacious and comfortable suite has a sitting room with its own stone fire place richly decorated with attractive comfortable furniture and colours has such amenities as: Satellite Color TV/DVD player as well as another satellite color TV in the bedroom area, corner kitchen unit with tea/coffee making facilities, toaster and refrigerator. Another of its beautiful features is the blue granite stone marble bathroom and large corner Jacuzzi and a coloured glass window hand painted featuring dolphins dancing in the sea.
A wrought iron and wooden indoor staircase leads you up to the open style bedroom area with its romantic four posted wrought iron double bed covered with fabrics of silk and organza and wall to wall silk curtains creating an even more romantic and rich atmosphere.
The view from the huge arched windows overlooks the swimming pool area and delightful courtyard and has views across the deep blue “Kritiko Pelagos” sea and of the quaint Venetian town of Rethymno and fortezza castle.
This suite also has its own private terrace complete with umbrella and sun loungers and offering you an even more spectacular view towards Mount Psiloritis.
